Guinness Northern Counties recognises that complying with Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 (and regulations made under it) is a legal requirement, and will strive to exceed any minimum legal requirements. We aim to provide a healthy, comfortable and safe environment for our customers, staff, residents, visitors and any other individuals or groups we come into contact with.
Our Policy of exceeding the minimum requirements ensures that we provide sufficient resources to meet this commitment. We have systems in place, which allow us to maintain, monitor and, where necessary, improve safety, environment and performance.
Included in these systems are methods to allow communication and consultation on health and safety matters between:
· All employees within the Association
· Our customers – applicants, tenants and leaseholders
· All contractors irrespective of employer
The Association expects employees at all levels to exceed their minimum legal duties, which are detailed in our organisational responsibilities. This includes
co-operating with us on safety matters and taking care of their own safety and that of others, whether from within Northern Counties or from customers and residents groups, contractors or anyone who may be affected by their actions.
We will support this Policy by providing any resourses, information, instruction, training or supervision necessary to enable these commitments to be acted upon and met by those who require it in order to perform their job safely.
The Policy and the way it is operated will be reviewed at least annually and more often if we change in nature or size. Any revision necessary to improve safety performance and our excellence will be made and then reported to employees, customers and resident groups and contractors where appropriate.
A Good Safety Record is No Accident!
