A shared ownership lease
Find out what a shared ownership lease contains

The property is normally sold on a long lease. Every lease has a plan attached showing the property sold and the land within the boundary.

The Shared Ownership lease explains:

  • your responsibilities
  • the Association's responsibilities
  • the rent
  • buying further shares
  • selling or assigning your shared ownership lease

All leases are different.  It is important that you read your lease to understand the rights and responsibilities that you are signing up to.  You should ask your solicitor to guide you on this.
