Jean with her award
An award winning combination for Jean
We celebrate success at the 2004 National Training Awards

Jean with her Award

We are proud to congratulate Jean, who manages one of our sheltered housing schemes in Oldham, on winning a National Training Award.  Jean is one of just 10 individual winners in the United Kingdom, selected by a panel of judges from over 1,000 entries.

Over the last two years Jean has worked hard to overcome dyslexia and photosensitivity through a range of different practical methods. Jean has taken the lead in her learning, deciding what and how she wanted to learn. Working towards her goal with the support of her colleagues at the local office and our central Training team, she has shown the significant benefits that effective learning and skills development can bring to the workplace and the community, as well as the outstanding results gained by putting what she has learned into practice.

Following the Awards ceremony at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, Jean and her colleagues celebrated her success at the Rochdale Regional Office.

The National Training Awards recognise and celebrate the success of people and businesses that have achieved lasting excellence and success through training and learning. Effective training enables people to achieve their potential, and organisations to achieve their aims and objectives.

Anyone can enter the competition.  If you are interested in finding out more about this year's winners and how to enter next year's competition, please take a look at the National Training Awards website.
