The Working Families (formerly Parents at Work) Employer of the Year Awards are designed to reward innovation and creative thinking in work-life balance, spreading the word on best practice and the encouragement of pioneering approaches to improving working lives and building business success.
There are 4 awards and we have applied for two of them. They are the NSPCC Family Friendly Award which will be given to the employer who can demonstrate commitment to their employees who are working parents. We have also applied for the Working Families Innovation Award which is for leading edge work-life policy and practice.
The closing date for the entries was 16th August 2004 and we have just heard that we have been successful in being shortlisted to the second stage of the competition which is excellent news for us as there has been a record number of entries received. We have also been advised that the standard of the entries has been high.
We now have to provide some further information by the 24th September and after this the judges will select a list of finalists who will then be interviewed in London at the beginning of November.
